Playing Doom on your PC with Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 can be extremely annoying. Most games from the Doom franchise originally ran only on Microsoft Windows operating systems. However, newer Windows operating systems have only very limited compatibility for the DOS Doom games and many Doom games and other doom related software programs will run poorly or even have other serious problems (sound compatibility is particularly affected.) Fortunately, you can download a free version of the game for your PC, and you can also install it. These are some tips to follow when installing the software on your PC.
The first thing you need to do is get started by opening your main menu and going to the "Add and Remove Programs"Add and Remove Programs From My Computer" function. This is located in the Control Panel tab, which is a window that appears at the right-hand side of your desktop screen. You can open this program with the Control Panel button on your keyboard. Once you have found your "Add and Remove Programs" option, double click on it to open the Add and Remove Programs dialog box.
After the Add and Remove Programs dialog box is opened, select "Activate" from the left-hand side of the dialog box to download and install the free software. Once you have finished downloading the software, it will be located at a location that you will click on. The software will prompt you to choose a location for your Doom game. For this step, choose your Windows operating system by clicking on the appropriate link that is displayed at the top of the screen. Finally, your computer will reboot and restart. You should now be able to enjoy playing Doom with Microsoft Windows.
